CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

To enable, resource and support everyone working with children in churches

Come in and say hallo!

My office is the base from which I work and the place where I hold all the resources available to you.  It is for your use as well as mine!

You are welcome to come in at a time to suit you - weekdays, Saturday mornings, or evenings.  Just phone or email to make a date, and come in and join me for a coffee and a chat, have a look at what's on offer, or just find out more about how your work can be supported.

What Will Church Be Like When Our Children Grow Up?

The Children's Assembly, Aviemore 2008

Read the report from two of the delegates to last year's Children's Assembly on the recent events page.

Even as those children are attending this year's General Assembly, planning is under way for the 2008 event.  Read more on the events page

The Children Dream...

For the National Celebration of the Church Without Walls in 2005, children from all over Scotland took part in a discussion  about the church they would like to see in the next 20 years. I hope their comments will inform our discussion also.  Click here to read the summary. Please note that this is a Powerpoint presentation. If you do not have Powerpoint on your computer, you may wish to download the Powerpoint viewer in order to read it.

The Easter Present

We expected 43 - no less than 71 turned up, most of whom seemed to reach about to our knees.....

Great fun was had by all, although things were not quite as planned!

(Photos will follow soon.)

Food for thought

Sometimes just turnng up at our children's meeting seems like hard work!  That's when our own personal "pick-me-ups"

can get us back on track.

The poem below appeared some years ago in a church magazine I happened

to pick up on my travels.

I liked its message - I hope you do too!

Whistling in the Rain

How is it that some people

sit in the sun looking like sour apples -

and that others whistle in the rain?

How is it that there are people

who, as soon as they open their eyes

see something wrong?

They need God!

Not as an impersonal, hazy being somewhere far away,

but as a personal friend, like a father,

close to them.

By being on intimate terms with God,

people see things with new eyes,

and start every morning with a new heart.
