Scripture Union Scotland

Richmond's Hope is a charity which supports children from the ages of 4 to 12 who have been bereaved or suffered a significant loss. Not all children will need the support of a project such as this, but they are there to help those who do. There is also the opportunity for parents, carers and teenage siblings of children who attend Richmond's Hope to attend for bereavement counselling. Go to Work Together to learn more.

Counselling Support Network in Edinburgh. This is a useful resource for those looking for support or general advice about counselling. Find a counsellor close by and appropriate for your needs. This is a free, confidential service. There are a number of sections on emotional disorders (types of distress section) and useful statistics. Every counsellor on the site who has submitted their profile has either sent a copy of their qualifications and insurance cover, or is registered with a professional body online with recognised codes of ethics and practice. This way you can be assured of their professionalism.

Fresh Start was established in July 1999 to provide services that support the resettlement of homeless people in the community. It was set up by church members who wanted to do something practical as a response to the growing crisis of homelessness. Fresh Start now offer a package of five services - starter packs for those obtaining a new flat; hit squads to help with decorating; befriending; electrical goods; cookers.
