Nativity Scene in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh
This wonderous scene was sculpted by Tim Chalk from wood. Sir
Tom Farmer kindly sponsored it, and it takes pride of place beside
the Floral Clock in the Gardens over the Festive Season.
A service of blessing is now held every Advent around the scene.
The worship is led by members of the various churches, who often
work together ecumenically. Those leading this year were from the
Free Church of Scotland, Roman Catholic Church, Scottish Episcopalian
Church, Baptists, and Church of Scotland. Representatives from
Edinburgh Council attend, along with musicians and choirs - not
forgetting the passers-by and holidaymakers.
