South East Edinburgh Churches Acting Together [SEECAT]

They are a group of Christian churches in the South-East of Edinburgh, Scotland, affiliated to ACTS (Action of Churches Together in Scotland) and membership is open to all Christian churches in the area.

The Cameron Toll Shopping Centre lies just outside the SEECAT area, but is widely used by the people living in South East Edinburgh. Its shops, supermarket and cafe are easily reached by bus or car, and together make a major local employer. The SEECAT churches, working jointly with Newington Churches Together (NCT), negotiated with the Centre management in 2001 to set up a chaplaincy in the shopping centre. The Chaplaincy provides a Christian "presence" in a commercial setting.

One of SEECAT's regular annual events is singing Christmas Carols in the Centre Mall. Each Good Friday they leave their individual churches to walk to Morrison's Supermarket at the centre of the Shopping Mall for an open-air service. They invite anyone that they meet to a service in the local High School in the afternoon. Afterwards they share refreshments and fellowship.
